Which Law Applies
For income tax, an online game is any game offered on the internet and played on a phone, computer or other connected device — whether it rests on skill or chance does not change the tax. Every Qelvor tournament today is played online. The Income-tax Act, 2025 replaced the 1961 Act from 1 April 2026: for prize TDS the 30% rate and the no-minimum rule did not change, but the section and form numbers did.

BGMI and Free Fire MAX run on internet servers even when you play at a venue, so the same online-game rule applies. The ₹10,000 threshold in Section 393(3), Table Sl. No. 1 (formerly Section 194B) only covers games that are not played over the internet.

Log in at incometax.gov.in with your PAN, open your AIS and choose tax year 2026-27. Our deduction appears in Part B (TDS/TCS information) under Qelvor eSports LLP and our TAN. This statement is Form 168, which replaced Form 26AS from tax year 2026-27.

Form 131 — Your Certificate
Your TDS certificate, formerly Form 16A. We download it from the government's TRACES system and send it to you within 15 days of each quarterly filing deadline — by 15 August, 15 November, 15 February and 15 June.
When The Credit Shows Up
TDS credit does not appear the day you are paid. We deposit the tax by the 7th of the following month (30 April for March). It shows in your AIS once we have filed our quarterly TDS statement — Form 140 for resident players, Form 144 for non-residents — and the tax department has processed it, usually within a few weeks of filing.

🪪 We ask for your PAN only if you win. Registration asks for your name exactly as on your PAN card, but not the PAN number. After the result is verified we email you for your PAN, because tax law requires prize winners to give the organiser their PAN, and we pay the prize once we have it. Check your PAN before you send it. Prizes are paid only to players aged 18 or older, and we may ask for proof of age before paying. If a wrong PAN is reported, your credit will not show in your statement — it may land under someone else's PAN, or under no one's. We can fix it with a TDS correction statement, but only within a limited time, and one valid PAN can be swapped for another only once. Spotted a mistake? 📄 You still report the winnings in your income-tax return and claim the TDS as credit, using your AIS and Form 131. Online game winnings are taxed at a flat 30% plus 4% cess (and surcharge if your total income is very high) — the basic exemption limit doesn't apply, no deductions are allowed, and a low income doesn't reduce it — so you may owe a small top-up (about 1.2% of the winnings) when you file. A refund arises only if the total tax deducted from all your income is more than your total tax bill.

Permanent removal from the Qelvor eSports platform.
The decision of the Qelvor eSports Tournament Administration shall be final regarding all fair-play violations.

If a tournament cannot be completed due to technical issues, server problems, or unforeseen circumstances, Qelvor eSports reserves the right to take any of the following actions.

💸 Prizes are distributed by UPI transfer after every successfully completed tournament match. We verify results, eligibility, the winner's PAN where required, and their UPI ID and account-holder name before paying the net prize after applicable tax deductions. Payment gateway services for entry fees are provided by Razorpay Payments Private Limited. Prize transfers are separate from checkout payments. Bank or UPI processing issues can delay a transfer; contact support if a transfer is missing. You never need to share a UPI PIN or OTP or pay a release fee to receive a prize.
